This is a large property with many additional possibilities for ocean view building sites. We have already installed a simple road system that give easy access to these areas. The entrance is gated and leads past royal palms and bougainvillea (see pictures) to a private parking near the front door. This Santa Fe inspired home is a unique creation designed for comfort and access to the spectacular tropical surroundings. Every morning we eat fresh fruit from our orchards, oranges, grapefruits, sweet star fruit, bananas, lemons, limes, guava, brazil grapes and we invite you to do the same. We face the Pacific and enjoy a gentle ocean breeze all day long, while the mountains above and Privately owned, sante fe style home for sale, costa ricaeast of us offer a cool evening breeze from the other direction. Numerous fragrant flowers and trees have been planted to catch the air currents wafting through the living spaces. The home has four very large openings with hardwood doors (that operate easily) opening to the north, west and south.

There are generous shaded areas around the house where the roof juts out and creates ideal spaces for eating or reading or bird watching or napping. A large teak dinning room table seats eight and several smaller teak tables and chairs can be used for more informal occasions. The main bathroom has his and her sinks, two large handcrafted mirrors, and a tiled circular nine-foot diameter shower area with lots of shelving and cupboards for personals. All floor surfaces are finished with terra cotta tiles or hardwood.

fully equipped kitchen, mexican tile counters, wood cabinetsDuring the days we leave all the doors open while in the evenings windows on the second floor keep the air cool and fresh. The master bedroom on the second floor has a queen-size bed and hardwood floors that extend into a balcony overlooking the ground floor (see pictures). The fully equipped kitchen is highlighted with Mexican tile counters and locally made wood cabinets, drawers and tabletops. There is a walk in food pantry equipped with a washing machine and security for valuables.

The first of our three ranchos is located a short distance through a small garden, down a tree shaded path and overlooking an orchard of fruit trees and "a knock out" ocean view.

The Pool: The pool and its surrounding is an oasis unto itself. A graceful path decorated with baby ginger, aromatic flowering trees, elegant palms and heliconias guides you from the front of the house to the pool deck. A byproduct of our imagination and a true labor of love, the pool surrounded by lipstick palms and a beautiful garden compliments this tropical landscape. Next to the water is our second rancho with two hammocks surrounded by giant blooming ginger plants, and of course an uncompromising western exposure to the Pacific that offers daily ocean sunsets that nobody at home believes, even when you show them the pictures (see pictures anyway). A plethora of birds are forever present, drinking from the pool, feeding on the copious fruits and flowers of lush surrounding vegetation or riding the air currents. Falcons, kites, toucans, blue mot-mots, green parrots, cranes, herons, dozens of multicolored hummingbirds and eagles to mention a few.

The Cabina: The cabina is completely private with a queen size bed and full bathroom. Three hinged glass doors offer yet another breathtaking ocean valley panorama. Perched on the edge of the mountain with a 250 degree view, it is often the first request of friends and family. The valley joins with the Dominical River winding its way to the Pacific, and in the evenings you can hear waves breaking on shore.

Because of the 420-meter elevation bothersome insects are virtually non-existent during the dry season beginning December and continuing to the end of April.
